Citi Field Stadium lies directly south of Flushing Bay. Next to the stadium is 50 acres of parkland owned by NYC Parks and leased to the Mets. The billionaire owner of the Mets, Steven Cohen, seeks to build a casino at the site and sees the nearby Chinese community as its consumer base.

Willets Point Special District
The Willets Point Special District (WPSD) is an approved 61-acre mixed-use development. The NYC Football Club and Mayor Adams have reached a deal to construct a 25,000-seat soccer stadium in the special district. The stadium will go through a land use review process starting in Fall 2023.

Special Flushing Waterfront District
The Special Flushing Waterfront District (SFWD) is a 29-acre luxury development with 3% affordable housing and privately managed streets and open spaces.
The project destroys a 2-acre microforest, impacting a multi-acre wetland on the opposite bank. This project was approved by NYC in 2020.
